Cooper Mountain Community Plan | Beaverton, OR - Official Website (beavertonoregon.gov)This is highly recommended reading here: For ideas on what to say: Read an excellent, brief, opposition report written by the local Community Participation Organization, of the Aloha-Reedville/Cooper Mountain Area, CPO6. Download the following file below (this has already been submitted to the Beaverton City Council):
Download (PDF) - Cooper Mountain Plan CPO6 CommentsWe encourage unique emails to be submitted to the City Council. Below, are some additional points you may want to embellish. We encourage you to read the CPO6 report too (above). Please don’t copy the bullets below verbatim but embellish them in your own wordings or add your own comments:
- Not in favor of high-density development in this particular area
- Concern for negatively impacting the pristine area where wildlife roam, abundant wetlands, streams
- Other areas of Washington County are more suited for high density development…not here
- Concern for deforestation to make room for this density
- Limit density to what Meto recommends level of 3750 homes. No more
- Stop adding more homes to the plan
- The area is too pristine to add commercial areas (this is in the plan)
- Have adequate local representation on all “Advisory Committees”. Not developers, real estate professionals, and people who live far outside the planned developments (as noted in the CPO6 report, this has been abused by the City of Beaverton)
- As Metro to expand the current Cooper Mountain Nature Park and don’t look to expand development into this area
